Poziv mladim umetnikom/umetnicam / Call for young artists

  • Foto: Humanitas, 2017

- sodelovali v t. i. palestinskem Uličnem muzeju. Dela bo zbrala palestinska organizacija Palestinian Vision.

Ulični muzej poteka v okviru projekta Bringing Culture and Art to the streets of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, ki ga vodi palestinska organizacija Palestinian Vision (http://palvision.ps/en/), skupaj z organizacijo Youth Without Borders in s slovenskima organizacijama Humanitas (www.humanitas.si) in Proja (http://proja.org/). Projekt finančno podpira Evropska unija.

We are looking for four young artists (18-35 years old) from countries of the European Union who are interested to participate with their artistic work at the so-called Palestinian Street Museum. Street Museum is a month long exhibition which will take place in Jerusalem in September 2018 and will bring together work from young Palestinian and European artists. Please note that the focus is on sending art work to Palestine and not the artists. We welcome different forms of art, from photography, painting, sculpture etc. The theme of the Street Museum is Palestinian and European identity. We are therefore looking for European artists who engage in different ways with the theme of European identity (critically engaged projects welcome) and are interested in sending their work to the exhibition. Street Museum is an opportunity for young European artists to exhibit their work in Palestine, turning their art into a channel of cooperation between Palestinian and European artists. The project covers the expenses of exhibition (return travel expenses for art work or printing) but not the travel of the artists. If the artist would like to attend the exhibition personally this will be on his/hers expense. If the artists would like to exhibit their work but do not wish to send the original, there is a possibility to send the material electronically and the work will be printed (there is also 3D printing) in Palestine. Those who are interested to participate, please send a picture of your artwork with a short description (what theme is it addressing and in what way) and your CV to Barbara Vodopivec at Society for Human Rights Humanitas, email: bvodopivec@gmail.com, where you can also turn for more information. The work will be selected by the Palestinian organization Palestinian Vision.

Street museum is an activity of the project Bringing Culture and Art to the streets of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, implemented by Palestinian organization Palestinian Vision (http://palvision.ps/en/), together with organization Youth Without Borders and Slovenian organizations Humanitas (www.humanitas.si) and Proja (http://proja.org/). The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union.
